Ford RideLondon-Essex 100

With a route running alongside the Thames in central London looping through to picturesque Essex villages and countryside, the iconic Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 will return on Sunday 26 May 2024. The centrepiece of the world’s greatest festival of cycling, the 100-mile challenge is one of the UK’s most famous challenge rides and gives riders a unique opportunity to cycle on traffic-free roads through some of the most famous London streets of London and the scenic parts of Essex.

To become one of Bede’s charity place runners you’ll need to pledge to raise at least £1000 in sponsorship for the charity. But don’t worry, we will be there to support you every step of the way! If you are lucky enough to secure your own ballot place and still want to support Bede, you can join Team Bede as an ‘own place runner.’ You’ll receive the same support as our charity place runners, but there’s no minimum fundraising target, meaning you can select a target that’s right for you.

Bede has 3 places available on the race. If you would like to set yourself a challenge and at the same time support us, why not sign up here!, before Monday 15th April.

TCS London Marathon

If you have a place on the Marathon, but no one to fundraise for, why not consider taking on the epic 26.2 mile tour of the capital’s most famous landmarks for Bede? You’d be running over the iconic Tower Bridge, past the Cutty Sark and finishing triumphantly down the Mall in the shadow of Buckingham Palace. This is truly a once in a lifetime event and achievement for many and you’d also be supporting us!

See what runners, Harry and Andy, achieved for us in 2023’s race.

How you are helping:

  • £60 provides lunch every week for a year for a volunteer who has learning disabilities.
  • £100 buys materials for a Bede youth club art and craft sessions for a year. These activities allow quieter young people to express themselves.
  • £600 supports a Bede worker to assess the risks facing a client who is experiencing domestic violence. They can then create a safety plan together.
