We were extremely honoured that Mayor Marianne Borgen of Oslo, took time out of her busy schedule to visit the Bede Centre last week. Mayor Borgen was in London for a very few days, to switch on the Christmas tree lights in Trafalgar Square. She enjoyed a cup of tea in the Bede Café and was able to see the music and art groups in action. As a former leader of Save the Children, she was very interested in Bede’s work with young people, and particularly in our plans to develop our support for children and young people surviving domestic abuse.

Thank you to our friends at the Norwegian Church in Rotherhithe, and to Kyrre Haugen at the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce – we are very grateful for our Norwegian connection.
