Bede’s Starfish Domestic Abuse project, are the recipients of a generous donation, indirectly because International Women’s Day (IWD)!

In March with Bede in mind, trustee Nitu Panesar and her colleagues from King’s College London, supported Starfish by holding a series of coffee mornings entitled #Break The Bias, the theme for this year’s IWD. The aim of #Break The Bias, is to highlight the prejudice that women still face on a daily basis. In Nitu’s case, it was also a way of getting her colleagues to reconnect after the pandemic.

With her co-workers’ help, Nitu successfully more than doubled her original fundraising target of £200, with just over half of £400 being shared equally between Nomi Network, aimed at ending human trafficking and Starfish.

Our thanks go to Nitu and her colleagues for helping Bede to tackle domestic abuse.
