The Learning Disabilities project are embarking on an exciting partnership with Café Galleries, Southwark Park. They are undertaking a 10-week art project using Dilston Grove to prepare the Pink! I Have the Power exhibition in the café Gallery, running from Wednesday to Sunday from 21st May – 29th June. There will be a launch party 2-4pm, 21st May at the Gallery.
Subtitled: An Exhibition of Alter Egos by Artists with Learning Disabilities, step into a world of boundless imagination and creative empowerment at Pink! I Have the Power. This exhibition presents the dynamic works of adults with learning disabilities, all centered around the theme of the “alter ego.” The artists have envisioned larger, more powerful versions of themselves, translating this vision into diverse and immersive expressions across a variety of materials and disciplines. From vibrant paintings to sculptural pieces, these works represent bold expansions of their personal artistic styles, exploring new dimensions and forms of self-expression.
Each artwork invites you into the artists’ personal worlds, where they embrace new identities, expand their creative boundaries, and transform their dreams into reality. Through their use of different mediums, they reveal the limitless potential of who they could be, giving us a powerful glimpse into their inner worlds.
Join us in celebrating the strength to imagine, the courage to create, and the power to transform.
