Malachi had been volunteering in Bede’s social club for the past year. He came to us through links with the Autism Project, and their work program. Malachi was very keen to gain experience in support work and we set up some taster sessions in our social club for him. This quickly turned into a permanent volunteer role for Malachi.

Reliable, helpful, and very friendly, Malachi has been very dedicated to Bede. Our clients responded well to him, and he has very quickly built excellent relationships with particularly our young male clients, who see Malachi as a role model.

Malachi has thrived in our environment doing so well with volunteering, that he joined our programme and has been training to become a Travel Buddy. Malachi was matched with one of our clients, Steven, who needed a buddy to travel safely to Bede using public transport, rather than a taxi.
