In 2024, Southwark Council issued a new tender for a service specification designed to cover Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), rather than focusing solely on domestic abuse. We decided to put ourselves forward and submitted a consortium tender made up of Citizens Advice Southwark, Southwark Law Centre, 1st Place Children’s Centre, and Lives Not Knives. Our bid centered on a community-based approach to support all genders who are victims of VAWG-related crimes.
In August 2025, we received confirmation that our bid had been successful, and we will be the newly commissioned service for Southwark. We are currently in the mobilisation phase with Southwark Council, with the new service scheduled to begin in February 2026.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us over the years and helped us shape our service into what it is today.
