Bede Learning Disabilities

Welcome to the Bede Centre

Our friendly Bede Centre is a special place for people with learning disabilities. Here, you can develop your skills, meet new friends and help other people. The wide range of opportunities and activities allows you to make up your own individual timetable. Our services can be arranged between yourself and Bede, or arranged through your social worker if you meet your local authority’s eligibility criteria.

Bede art group exhibits at Southwark Park Gallery

Arts and Crafts

We offer a variety of arts and crafts sessions using different mediums to learn new skills and techniques to produce inspired artwork.

Supporting local householders with their gardening

Inside Outside project

We provide award-winning volunteer support for older residents: Gardening, shopping, befriending — plus visits from our helping hound!

Washing up in the Bede cafe

Training in the Bede Café

The Bede Centre’s café supports clients and volunteers to prepare healthy meals, while training them in safe food handling, teamwork and hospitality.

Sports with Ballers

We run multisport sessions and football training with Ballers Academy at Docklands Settlement. Our Bede/Ballers teams compete monthly in the S. London Special League.

Group music session

Music sessions

We run lively music sessions using many instruments, and sometimes perform with visiting professional musicians. Everyone has individual time to express themselves.

Computing

We have a small IT room available for people to use. We access short courses in digital skills through our links with Orchard Hill College.

Harvest Festival at the allotment

Bede Allotment Group

We have a large allotment in Southwark Park, and several groups grow their own vegetables and maintain the space.
