Chris Steele, Group Financial Controller at Control Risks Group, visited Bede last week with colleague Yean Nicholson. Chris will be running for Bede in the Virgin London marathon on his 40th birthday Sunday 28th April!.
After lunch at the café in our Learning Disabilities project, Chris had an opportunity to have some pictures taken with our service users Luke and Ciaran. Of his visit Chris said, “It was so inspiring to see the great work you all do and fantastic to meet everyone. I will now be further spurred on for the remaining training and the big day itself!”
Chris, who normally plays for Harpenden Hockey Club, has shown that running is a forte training for the Marathon by running the Harpenden Half Marathon last month and doing 35km runs. So far he has raised £3191 for us and even had an article written about what he hopes to achieve in his local press.
