After nearly 17 years of running our Youth club members around, our Blue Ford Minibus says enough is enough and wants to retire from service!

Bought new in 2001, it has done nearly 150,000 miles mainly in Southwark for home pick-ups and drop offs ,  taking our members aged 8 – 19 on week-long camps to the Brecon Beacons, Forest of Treago and New Forest, as well as Surfing in Newquay and the Isle of Wight plus many more trips.

The minibus is also used by our Learning Disability project for vulnerable adults aged 18 – 65.  The bus helps them to travel to Millwall Football sessions and gives them the freedom to travel safety to and from events.

The Bede Youth Project Holiday Club with The Mayor’s Fund for London.

Bede would appreciate it if you can give your support by helping us to raise the money for a replacement bus.  You could run an event or do a sponsored activity.   The parent of one of our club members, Julie Weston, has kindly set up a JustGiving page, which you can donate to as an alternative to doing an event:

If you make a donation using Julie’s page, you may be able to Gift Aid it (where Bede claims back from the Government an additional 25p for each £1 donated) or you can hand good old fashioned cash (not too old fashioned though!) into the Bede office at 351 Southwark Park Road.

Please spread the word: tell your friends, tell your work colleagues!

Thank you all very much on behalf of Bede House / Bede Youth Staff Team all Bede Members young and old.
